Title 5 inspection is a required septic inspection by Massachusetts regulation. It was first created by the Massachusetts legislation on March 31 1995. Requires inspection by approved persons at residences and businesses in Massachusetts. The purpose of the septic inspection is to protect waterways and the environment in general. The cost can be as low as $375 and rarely exceeds $550 the price difference is due to the fact some septic tanks and distribution boxes are deeper below the surface and requires more digging. Septic systems that fail must be repaired in 2 years.
